Ian the Unreasonable

Well, Ian with hand-foot-mouth that is. Boy that kid went from perfect to unbearable in a short time. Can't even describe the mental state he's been in (at times today). The worry now is to have Erin not go into labor so we don't have to worry about exposing the new baby.

The Screwdriver

Instead of Ian playing with one of his toys this morning, he apparently found a screwdriver in our junk drawer and is taking the toy apart. It's only the battery cover and a couple of other pieces, but it does involve five screws. He takes everything apart, including the batteries and then puts everything back together. I gotta get this kid some tools.

Nesting

Well, at least what I consider nesting actually - today we've begun the final preparations for the coming of our next child. The infant car seat has been installed, the bassinet set up, diapers and wet-wipes set out, the clothes are washed and ready, etc., etc.

We're going on a hospital tour today with Ian as well. We're definitely in the 'red zone'! I can believe we're going to be a family of four. It seems so official.

Ian's Confrontation

Ian in the last two nights has gone up to people he doesn't know and essentially say 'I don't like you'. After 60 seconds the other persons' guilt has driven them to entertaining Ian to the point where he's laughing and having a great time. Must be his ploy to get attention.

Mari Turns One

Eventful day today at Reagen South: we had a b-day party for my niece Mari, lots of people over to celebrate, hung out at the park for a couple of hours etc, etc. Livin' the good life. Ian had a great time as he loves being entertained by and entertaining adults.

Some Ian comments lately: when asked to do his "funny dance" at the party, he stated "I'm too embarrassed". When asking for a drink last week, he stated "I need a drink so I can stay hydrated". Really.

Great Pic

I just love this picture!

We're Live

So, I think this actually works - wow. I'm an official blogger now. Thanks for reading. The purpose of this blog is to capture the random memories of the Reagen Southern division. I'm expecting this to be largely update on the kid(s) and movie reviews. Yes, thrilling stuff.

On that note - we went in for another baby appointment today. We all got to hear the strong heartbeat at roughly 140 bpm and everything is on schedule. Erin's hemoglobin was good, weight, fundel (sp?) height, everything. Good deal.

Otherwise, saw the Da Vinci Code again last night with my friend Chris. I was impressed he enjoyed the movie and just considered it another point of view. That's awesome. It's a great movie (and book) that prompts people into some very good discussions. Discussions people don't normally have - and that's a good thing.

OK, that's it - the first official blog post. Rock on. Save the whales.

The First Post

So, jumping on the bandwagon of blogging and truly inspired by my brother-in-law Rob (and props to my friend Chris too). More to come if I can figure this set up out . . .
